In date columns, the sort options are descending, ascending, and unsorted.
However, in text columns, the sort options are ascending, descending, and unsorted.
Why do the sort options vary depending on the column's data type?
Additionally, in text columns, the sort arrows are displayed incorrectly: an up arrow is displayed for the descending sort option and a down arrow for the ascending sort option.
Hello Cristina,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
The sort options are expected to vary based on the column's data type. By default, the flat view displays the unsorted data. The order of the sort options depends on what users most commonly expect when interacting with those data types. While in the date columns, users want to see the latest dates (descending sort), the alphabetical order is the expected way to sort text (ascending sort). With this in mind, in the date columns, the first sort option is descending, and in the text columns, it is ascending.
However, we agree that the sort arrows are displayed incorrectly for the text columns. Our team will examine the described behavior and provide a fix with our minor release, ETA June 9th. We will notify you about the release.
You are welcome to contact us if other questions arise.
Kind regards,
Nadia
