Scrolling Error

Answered
Cedric Gaines asked on May 5, 2020

Im having a issue where once the data is retrieved and the chart (bar for example) the scroll bar under the legend no longer scrolls.  I’ve set overflow-x: auto; on the div where the flex monster will be rendered.  It appears that only the scroll under the legends stops scrolling.  You can see it, just cant interact with it.
Ive attached a picture to show.  Is there something I need to set to fix this when I create my flex monster control?
Thanks,

Hi Cedric,

Thank you for posting your question!

So far, we haven’t managed to reproduce the described behavior on our side, although we suspect the issue could lie in your pivot table view being structured in multiple tabs (Crash Data / Vehicle Data / Person Data). It would be really helpful if you could provide us with a sample project of yours with a dummy data set – this will greatly help us investigate this further.

Looking forward to your response.

Kind regards,
Mykhailo

Here is the link to the site:
https://apps.impact.dot.state.ma.us/cube/
and here (attached to this post) is a sample report to see the error.  The bottom top bar scrolls, the bottom bottom bar will not scroll.

I have narrowed it down the the legend, for some reason it wont scroll.  I have tried everything even targeting it in css, so no go.  Please help.

Do you think you could provide us with some demo credentials so that we can access the link and further investigate the issue? Please note that sensitive info like this can be sent to us via email to ensure privacy.

Alternatively, it would also work fine if you could send us the requested sample version of the project in an archive via email so that we can deploy and test it on our side.

Looking forward to your reply.

This is a public site, that many people are using.  So I don’t understand when you say its resticted.  What error are you seeing cause this isn’t locked down in any way?
Can you try this link?
Link:
https://apps.impact.dot.state.ma.us/cdp/home

Once you get to this site, then go down towards the bottom of the site page till you get to the section labeled: Crash Tabulation and Charting and hit its ‘Explore’ button.  This is the site with the issue im posting about.  You can use the report.json file to use as an example of the issue that I’m posing about.
Thanks,

Hi Cedric,

We’ve realized the website has restricted access based on location, so we’ve managed to access it using VPN.

Speaking of the scrolling issue, it turns out the reason for the toolbar scroll not working is that the row footer element has the top property set to -40px, meaning that it blocks the legend element above.

If you remove the -40px configuration for the row footer location, the legend is unblocked again and the scroll works as expected.

Please let us know if this helps.

Mykhailo
