Multiple Dimension Values

Answered
Vinothkanna asked on April 27, 2018

Can we add multiple dimensions values to the grid?

Example:
Assume that we have a dimension field named "Revenue" .

In the fields window, I want to have the dimension named "Revenue" twice one will show the Sum of Revenue and the other one will show the column percentage "Revenue Percentage". Is there any way to achieve this in flexmonster? If yes, Kindly share me the docs to achieve this.

Thanks & Regards

Hello, Vinothkanna,
Thank you for your question.
This can be done by adding calculated values.
For example, you show Sum of Revenue on the grid. Then you create calculated value based on column percentage "Revenue Percentage" and also show this calculated value on the grid.
Please inform me in case of other questions.

Tanya

HI Tanya,

We are using Microsoft Analysis Services as our datasource.
Calculated values seems to available only for JSON, CSV and OCSV data sources.
So can you please guide me to achieve the above problem.

Hello, Vinothkanna,
Thank you for specifying which data source you use.
In case of Microsoft Analysis Services, we suggest the following approach:
1) configure calculated values directly in the MSAS cube
2) display those calculated values in Flexmonster
For OLAP cubes, numeric hierarchies in Flexmonster support 7 types of aggregation. All other aggregations can be configured directly in the cube.
Please let me know if you have questions.

Tanya

Hi Tanya,
Yes we can do that.
But I just want to have measure value one column with original value and the other one with the aggregation applied.
For more info can you please re-look at the question which I have raised initially. So it will be helpful for you to sorting out my problem.

Hello Vinothkanna,
Thank for the detailed explanation. Currently, Flexmonster does not allow displaying the same measure with different aggregations at the same time. Since you are using MSAS as a data source the calculated values workaround is also not an option for you. The good news is that this feature is already added to our roadmap and our dev team is going to implement it in our future major releases. Still, we are not ready to announce any estimate for this feature. However, we will notify you as soon as the release date for this feature is settled.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.
Regards,
Dmytro

Hello, Vinothkanna,
We would like to inform you that after the release of version 2.6 Flexmonster allows displaying the same measure with different aggregations at the same time. For example, one measure can be selected several times with different aggregations directly in the Field List.
You are welcome to try it.
Regards,
Tanya
