Export CSV with encode UTF-8 with BOM

Answered
yabou asked on November 14, 2019

Hi,
I try to export a CSV with Chinese content in Flexmonster. Open it with Excel. The Chinese text is not displayed correctly.
I wonder if Flexmonster can export UTF-8 with BOM CSV or UTF16 encoded CSV,so Excel can show CSV correct。
If not,Is it possible to add future versions?

Hi,Illia
I reproduce issue in flexmonster V2.2.
I tried to use the latest trial version of flexmonster 2.7 to export CSV again, and the problem was solved. Thank you for your answer.

Hi, Illia,
I'm sorry to find that the result csv file has a problem.
The numeric data with comma was changed the character with space at the place of comma at result file.
See the attached file.
I tried to export another dataset of the country in far east area and found the same problem.
please check again and let me know.
Best Regards,
SK Park

Hello!

Thank you for contacting us.

Kindly note that you can change the default number formatting as follows:

report: {
    ...
formats: [{
name: "",
thousandsSeparator: ","
    }]
}

We have prepared a JSFiddle example for illustration: https://jsfiddle.net/flexmonster/mv3spjL4/.

You can find more information about number formatting in our docs: https://www.flexmonster.com/doc/number-formatting/.

Please let us know if we understand you right and if this approach works for your case.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Solomiia

Hi, Solomiia,
Thanks for your rapid reply.
I mistook a space as a comma on the report.
I got the fact the default number formatting is a space.
Actually, the numeric data on the report didn't have commas originally.
I could change the format(from a space to a comma) with format button on the toolbar.
Export function was working well from the first.
Thank you for your hard work.
It must work for me very much.
Best regards,
SK Park
