How do I hide the Flexmonster container and only use the data for Google chart?

Hi there,

I am looking to use the Flexmonster pivot chart to format the data and use the data in a Google Chart but want to hide the Flexmonster data grid completely.

Is this possible?

Thanks,

Danny

Hi Danny,

Thank you for posting your question.

Please note that Flexmonster is not designed to be used solely as a data provider – it is not possible to use the pivot table with a charting library instance without initializing it first.

With that in mind, perhaps you could tell us a little bit more about what exactly you are trying to achieve here? Understanding this will help us see whether there is an alternative solution we can offer.

Looking forward to your response.

Hi Mykhailo,

I am trying to create a dashboard of tiles with various charts /graphs and didn't want to load the Flexmonster data grid for each tile to minimize clutter. I prefer to use the 3rd party chart view because it has a bit more functions and customizations vs the Flexmonster charts.
As of now, if I had 10 items on my dashboard from various datasources, I would have 10 charts but also need to include the 10 Flexmonster datatables in order to use the pivot data. I would like the datatables to be hidden / collapsed during the start. The user can open it if they like to see underlying data within the dashboard tile.

I tried updating the CSS and height/width to 0px but it didn't work.

Please advise of any possible solutions / workarounds?

Thanks,

Danny

Hi Danny,

Thank you for further explaining your use case.

As we've mentioned in our previous response, it is not possible to fully hide Flexmonster on the webpage, while also keeping its functionality accessible.

However, considering the description you've provided, here are some steps to be taken to visually minimize the presence of Flexmonster on the page, in case this is something that could help:

  1. Decrease the size of the pivot table container.
  2. Hide the toolbargrid headers, etc.
  3. Use a single pivot table instance for multiple chart instances, in case some of them share the same data slice.

Please let us know if this helps.

Kind regards,
Mykhailo
