How to check correctness of formulas?

I can't find info about calculated values syntax correctness checker. For example, user can add formula like this -> sum("price""""") . And flexmonster will not show errors. Our app needs this functionality, because fields inside formulas can be outdated and we need to show user attention popup like  "please, delete this fields from your calculated values". And if user enter wrong syntax fields it will work incorrect and popup will show something like -> please delete field "/ sum (". We get calculated fields from formulas with regexp which gets values inside this symbols -> (" ")
