How to filter by number, date, string range

Answered
liangyi2012 asked on August 3, 2018

Is there a way to filter number by range such as >= 10 and <= 20?
The actual requirement that leads to this is date range. I understand there're currently no date range available. So I was thinking to use alternatives such as converting date to a number, then filter the number. There I realize there's no number range as well. So this way may not work as well.
On the similar note, not only number or date that can be ranged, even string may be ranged as well. Say converting a date to a string, and select the range based on that.
In summary, I'm looking for a way to assign filter by range, quite an important feature to us.

Hello, Liangyi,
Thank you for mentioning the importance of range filtering for your project.
Currently, Flexmonster does not support range filtering. This feature is planned for our next major release. The approximate release date at the beginning of 2019.
Also, could you please let me know if your company is an existing customer of Flexmonster or you’re just testing it? We need this information for our records.
Regards,
Tanya

Thank you for sharing the road map. We're currently testing it; so far, the evaluation looks promising. The only major missing feature right now for us is notably this range filtering. 2019 seems a bit far away in the internet era. Any possibility to prioritize it? I think it's a common feature that would benefit a lot of users.
Thank you for the prompt reply

Hello Dmytro
Can you please contact me regarding options to filter by ranges?  I am an existing customer and the lack of range filtering is blocking us from adoption.

Hi Ian,
I found this topic when I was searching if Flexmonster supports date filters. I'm just wondering if it's also supported for SSAS (we are using Accelerator). Because we have date/datetime fields, but we have no filters similar to the ones that I can see in JsFiddle you linked above. If it's supported, what do we need to setup?
Regards,
Lukas

Hello Lukas,
Thank you for writing to us.

Currently, the extended date filters are available only for CSV and JSON data sources.
The date filtering functionality is not supported for SSAS, Mondrian, and Elasticsearch for now.
Our dev team keeps the tasks for it in our backlog, still, we are not ready to provide an ETA for this functionality.

Please let us know in case of any other question.
Regards,
Dmytro
