[Bug Report] Filtering cannot be disabled on date hierarchies

Answered
Projet Data asked on July 9, 2020
  • Version: Pivot Table for JSON data sources v2.8.10
  • Browser: Chrome Version 83.0.4103.116 on Windows 10
  • Link to reproduce: https://jsfiddle.net/ge45hj3z/
  • Steps to reproduce:
    • Open attached JSFiddle
    • See in the JSON configuration in Flexmonster object report.mapping that:
      • Hierarchy “Country” has type: “string” and filters: false
      • Hierarchy “Date” has type: “year/month/day” and filters: false
  • Observed behavior:
    • UI filtering is still enabled for hierarchy “Date” despite having filters: false
  • Expected behavior:
    • UI filtering (in grid, filter panel and fields configurator) should be disabled when hierarchy has filters: false, regardless of the field’s data type, as documented in https://www.flexmonster.com/doc/mapping/
  • More details:
    • filters: false also doesn’t seem to be taken into account when data type is “year/quarter/month/day“, or “date” (for each individual sub-field of date). May also be the case for other types (untested). It does apply for type “date string“.
