Date format not consistent in flexmonster when used with elasticsearch

Answered
amir asked on March 23, 2021

I have a flexmonster chart that uses uses flexmonster elasticsearch to fetch data from an elasticsearch server and I am facing some issues with date format
My elasticsearch server return date in UTC format and it is shown as UTC format on chart by default.
Now I parse all fields and set format to my date fields (using mapping object). The required format is MM/dd/yyyy.
When the chart loads it is showing the date in the format as specified in the mapping object (MM/dd/yyyy) but when I double click on a cell to open drill through view it is not showing date in required format as specified in the mapping model but the date is showing in default UTC format.
Now i have 2 questions regarding this
1: How can is ensure all date fields to be in the same format as specified in the mapping object for that particular field both in the main grid as well in drill-down view.
2: when can I expect the functionality that enables me to specify the date format globally for all the date fields in flexmonster grid with elasticsearch to be rolled out. As per the docs you don't support that as of now for elasticseach grids.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We did manage to reproduce the behavior with different date patterns on charts and in the drill-through.
Our team is going to research possible solutions and provide you with results ETA May 03.
Also, we agree that it would be useful to have the possibility to define the date pattern for all fields at a time. We will research the possible ways to implement this feature as well.

Feel free to contact us in case other questions arise.

Regards,
Illia

Hello,

We are pleased to inform you that now date formatting is also supported for the drill-through view when using Elasticsearch. Moreover, it is now possible to define dates output format for all dates when working with Elasticseach using "datePattern" option.
This is included in the 2.8.32 version of Flexmonster: https://www.flexmonster.com/release-notes/

You are welcome to update the component.
Here is our updating to the latest version tutorial for guidance: https://www.flexmonster.com/doc/updating-to-the-latest-version/.

Feel free to write to us in case of questions.

Best regards,
Illia

Has there been any update that enables me to set the global default date format for flexmonster? Currently, for tables I am setting date format (mm/dd/yyyy) but for charts, I cannot individually set date format so it is rendered in flexmonster default format (dd/mm/yyyy). How can I set global date format that is used everywhere in flexmonster
