I tried to sort by column1 followed by column 2. once you apply the sort for one column, all other columns become random alphabetically.
it looks only allows to sort on one column and forgets any other column sorting. It should remember all sorting setup and apply those based on column position (first column first, then second column etc). It is working in pivot table classic layout but not in flat.
Please take a look and let me know whether able to recreate this or not. it’s happening in DEMO site also.
Thanks & Regards,
You are right, it the flat view you can apply sorting only by one specific column at a time.
Otherwise, the data in rows will be messed up.
Do you have an example how it works in Excel or other similar software?
Yes, the same way it works in Excel with custom sort option. Column 1 then after column2 then…column N.
Please find an attachment with an excel example: Without Sort and With Sort tabs. Please let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks & Regards,
Please find an excel example that I have attached.
Thank you for providing the Excel sample. Currently, sorting with multiple columns is not supported in flat view. This feature is not in our roadmap, however, we have added it to our customers’ wish list. We will keep you posted with any updates.
Tanya – we are also looking for multi-sort capabilities in the flat-view. Any plans on adding this to the roadmap?
Thank you for writing. For now, we do not have any plans on adding this feature to the roadmap. Still, we keep in mind that some of our customers have already requested it. Therefore, this feature may be added to the roadmap in future. We will notify you when the status of this task is changed.
Hello. We also would be pleasure if you decide to add multi-column sorting to all view types.
Thank you for writing to us.
Our team would like to explain that our roadmap is full at the moment.
Please keep in mind that we will notify you in case of any updates on the matter.
You are welcome to contact us in case of any questions.
This certainly is a much needed feature. I appreciate that it might not be trivial to implement for pivot tables, but for flat tables it’s a standard feature in most spreadsheet programs.
Thank you for contacting us.
Your suggestion sounds reasonable, and the task on creating such a feature is added to our backlog. However, our team would like to kindly inform you that our roadmap is full for the current moment.
We will keep you posted with any updates.
Please contact us in case additional questions occur.
+1 for this feature
Thank you for your interest.
Please kindly note that our roadmap is full at the moment.
However, our team has taken your request into consideration and we will notify you in case of any changes.
