How to resize modal windows?

Answered
Viktor Szőke asked on December 18, 2020

Is there a way to enlarge the modal windows (like the filters modal) to use more area of the screen? Or it would be even better if the window would be resizable by the user.
I've attached a screenshot of how little of the screen is used by the filter modal, when there would be a lot more space. This makes using the filtering quite difficult when there are a lot of values.
We moved from an old DevExpress UI framework and this is the most wanted missing feature by our users.

Hello, Viktor,

Thank you for giving us some time.

We want to explain that pop-up windows are not resizable except for the Field List.
As a workaround, you can implement your custom UI controls and specify the required dimensions.

Please let us know if other questions arise.

Illia

Hi Illia,
Are you not considering this as a new feature? I'm assuming since you've already implemented this on the Field List window, it would make sense to implement it for other windows as well.
Could you elaborate a bit more on what you mean by "implementing your custom UI controls"? We do not want to use custom controls, just to be able to make the Filter window bigger, so more values can be seen simultaneously. When there are a lot of values (100+ or even 1000+) in the in the Filter window, the fixed 6 lines size makes it really difficult to see what you have selected/unselected from the list.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.

Concerning the custom UI controls, we want to confirm that this implies developing your custom UI elements to operate with API provided by Flexmonster. However, we agree that the possibility of manually resizing the filtering pop-up sounds reasonable.
This feature will be added in the minor update ETA Feb 22.
Our team will notify you as soon as the version with this feature is available to download.

Please note that only the filtering pop-up is going to become resizable. Other pop-up windows (options, formatting, etc.) will remain the same. It is because of the fixed size of their content (no scroll needed).

Feel free to contact us if other questions arise.

Regards,
Illia

Hi Illia,
We have tested the mentioned 2.8.27 version.
The requested feature works nicely, however we discovered a new bug that might be related this new feature. If we translate the menu toolbar's texts, longer values are displayed outside of the menu window. On earlier versions (v2.8.19) the long values were truncated, and everything looked nice. I've attached two screenshots, but I'm opening a new ticket for this issue.
