Set YAxis scale

Re-Open
Michael T asked on August 14, 2020

Are we able to set a fixed Y Axis range?
I only seem to be able to configure so that the Y Axis will autoscale depending on the value.
Having a definable scale is useful to allow visual comparisons across multiple instances of FM even if the values differ a lot. e.g. 10% vs. 90%
Thank you

Hi Michael,

Thank you for posting your question.

Kindly note that a custom-defined fixed axis range is currently not supported in Flexmonster.

There is a somewhat similar functionality provided by the autoRange option, which defines whether the Y-axis range is lined-up to the values automatically (feel free to check out the following sample for reference), but other than that the range is not modifiable.

Please let us know if you have any other questions we can help you with.

Best regards,
Mykhailo

Thank you for your quick response.

I understand that a third party graphing may also be a way to achieve this.
That said, having some option in Flexmonster would be a nice feature to make it stronger. Allowing for consistent visual comparison comparing multiple charts on a fixed scale over time, especially for percentages, where y would be fixed at 100%
Perhaps have your feature team consider adding it as something that could be considered?

Thank you,

Hi Michael,

Yes, as you've suggested, using a 3rd party charting library might also be a viable solution – you can refer to the following list of tutorials for integration with any charting library of your choosing: https://www.flexmonster.com/doc/available-tutorials-charts/

Answering your question – our roadmap is rather full at the moment, so while we won't be able to add such functionality in the nearest future, we've already added this to our customers' wishlist and we will let you know in case there are any updates on this.

Regards,
Mykhailo
