use filter on labels with data source Elastic Search

Answered
Jaco asked on August 24, 2020

Why is it not possible to filter on "label" in Elastic Search as it is with other data sources?
For example, i want to filter the column "project" where all the labels are starting with "P20". This is possible for sql server, but not for Elastic Search.
I know you can filter the available list and then select all the options. But when you save this, all the selected options will be saved. So when in the future you add a new project which starts with "P20" it will not be automatically added to the report.

Hi Jaco,

Thank you for writing to us.

Kindly note that the mentioned label filtering is currently unavailable with Elasticsearch due to particular technical specificities of the Flexmonster Elasticsearch connector.

Nevertheless, we've been researching this topic for some time now and it seems like Elasticsearch does provide a way to implement such filters – therefore, we are planning to introduce label filtering for Elasticsearch with our upcoming release ETA Oct 5th.

We will make sure to notify you as soon as the update arrives.

Please let us know if you have any other questions we can help you with in the meantime.

Best regards,
Mykhailo

Hi Jaco,

We are happy to announce that label filters are now available for the Elasticsearch data source.

This is available in the 2.8.17 version of Flexmonster: https://www.flexmonster.com/release-notes/.

You are welcome to update the component. Here is our updating to the latest version guide for assistance: https://www.flexmonster.com/doc/updating-to-the-latest-version/.

Please let us know if everything is working fine for you.
