New Flexmonster Pivot Table Version 2.6

New! 2.6 Release: the next wave of hot summer features. Surf's up!

We hope you are having a great summer. Our team decided to fulfill your warm working days with a light breeze of new version features.

These version 2.6 features satisfy the most popular requests from end-users and also offer the new possibilities for developers.

Let’s dive in details! In new 2.6 You are able to:

  • See SUM of the selected cells

This feature was the most desirable among our clients’ requests. To see the result of few values that you want to be aggregated - just go to the Grid and select a few cells you need. Now you can see three Aggregated Values for cells you’ve chosen: Sum, Average and Count.

  • Use different aggregations for the same measure in one report

From this version, one measure can be selected several times with different aggregations. For example, Revenue measure can be selected 3 times for a pivot table showing different aggregated values: Revenue (Sum), Revenue (Average) and Revenue (Max). It’s useful, let’s say when you want to see Sum and % of Row at the same time in your report.

  • Change measure aggregation using a context menu

Previously, to change the aggregation it was necessary to open the Field List, go to the Values block and change the aggregation to the one you need. We made it more convenient now. To change the measure aggregation, let’s say from Average to Max, you can just click the right mouse button and select new aggregation there.

We took into account our clients’ wishes and chose those that we think will make the usage of our Pivot more easy and enjoyable.

Thus, dear integrators, you would be glad to hear about the customization opportunities you get:

  • Customize the context menu

Now you’ve got the new option to customize the context menu to make it more convenient for usage. You can extend the right-click menu with new items providing additional functionality. This can be done using a customizeContextMenu function. For example, you can extend the context menu with an ability to switch to charts, create a custom menu for a flat table or remove all context menu items for classic view.

Actually, there are a lot of other options available. Use your imagination or just implement your users’ requests about functions they want to have on the grid view. Learn more

  • Define custom sorting via sorting function

This feature allows defining a specific order for displaying hierarchy members in columns, rows or report filters. It can be used when you want to set your own sorting order, as an example, to keep some members at the end or at the start of the list.

With the sortingMethod, you can predefine your own order for columns, rows or report filters in the slice.

But wait, there is one more feature for those who work with MongoDB or other NoSQL Databases. We bet You’ll totally love it.

We developed the Compressor for JSON data source which will strikingly boost the performance of your project when loading the JSON data from the NoSQL Database into Flexmonster Pivot Table. From now on, creating fascinating reports has already become faster.

That’s it. Go ahead and test, test, test!
